Revision Donates $50,000 to Special Operations Warrior Foundation via Dan Packard Spec Ops Family Fund

*At the end of September 2019, Revision Military sold its protective eyewear business along with the Revision Military name. The remaining Armor, Soldier Power, Platform Power and Advanced Concept divisions move forward from that date under the new corporate name of Galvion. The press release below was issued prior to that sale, and therefore appears using the Revision Military name.*

Revision Military, a world leader in protective soldier solutions, donates $50,000 to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF) through the Revision & Dan Packard Spec Ops Family Fund. The fund operates under the SOWF, bringing the families of severely wounded special operators to the bedsides of their loved ones. The Dan Packard Spec Ops Family Fund was created by Revision as a departure gift to honor Mr. Packard’s immeasurable contributions as both a former Special Operator and senior executive at the company. Dan leaves Revision after 8 years of dedicated service in the position of Vice President, U.S. Sales.

“Dan is one of the most generous persons I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, both professionally and personally. His giving is truly selfless, drumming up support—time, monetary and otherwise—for those in need,” Explains Jonathan Blanshay, CEO of Revision. “Particularly close to Dan’s heart is the Spec Ops community, with whom he served before joining Revision. As a thank you for all that Dan accomplished during his tenure with the company, we wanted to ‘pay it forward’ with a donation to one of his favorite charities—the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.”

Packard leaves Revision to spend less time on the road and more time with his family in Illinois. Taking over as Vice President, Global Sales, is Alex Hooper who has been overseeing the company’s international sales growth since 2004. Prior to joining Revision, Alex held key sales roles at Lockheed Martin, Defense News and Space News, and CamelBak.

ABOUT THE FUND

The Revision & Dan Packard Spec Ops Family Fund provides support for wounded special operators and their families by granting immediate financial assistance to spec ops personnel severely wounded in the global war on terror. Managed by the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), once notified of a special operator hospitalized with a severe injury, the SOWF immediately sends a $3,000 grant to the service member so their family and loved ones can travel to be at their bedside.

The Dan Packard Spec Ops Family Fund was created by Revision to honor Dan’s immeasurable contributions as both a former Special Operator and as a senior executive at Revision Military. In the position of Vice President, U.S. Sales, Dan was responsible for overseeing the company’s military and retail sales, and leading the company’s U.S. Army Customer Support Team. Instrumental in growing the company to the global defense supplier that it is today, Mr. Packard brought with him a wealth of experience, including over 15 years of selling to the U.S. military. Prior to joining Revision, Dan served as a Survival Instructor and as an Air Force Combat Controller, and has in-depth, first-hand knowledge of equipment needs for military operations.

Revision invites industry as well as individuals to support this important SOWF program. Donations can be made by visiting the SOWF donations page and selecting the “Revision & Dan Packard Fund” Program Area to make a contribution to this essential cause.
